In this scope area of Atturaif - A Living Museum, visitors may view the most revered area of the First Imperial Saudi State, Salwa Palace, from an elevated walkway. Dating from the 14th century, the palace ruins are bathed in warm, gentle light produced from small-scale, dimmable RGB LED fixtures mounted parallel to and under the elevated walkway enhance the inviolability of the site. Embedded within the ruins, modern glass galleries incorporate traditional lighting techniques for displays while playfully transforming the museum itself into a sort of inverted display case by continuing the treatment of wall-washing the palace ruins just outside the glass.
