Lighting was the key component in the renovationof a 1000 seat synagogue built in the 1950's. With a limited budget and a desire to keep the same concept of downlighting, the sanctuary lighting was significantly upgraded by changing early generation metal halide downlights to top accessible Q500T4 narrow and wide distribution downlights. To avoid replacing existing ceiling tiles, new petal-shaped suspended ceiling panels were installed where additional downlights were needed, thereby enabling the use of existing power locations while adding architectural interest.
