Lighting the exterior plaza in additon to the interior improved overall visibility for this regressed 1980s building lobby. For pedestrians at street level below, the ceiling plane makes the first impression. Linear LED strips concealed within column covers create an attractive pattern. To maximize visual comfort and facilitate wayfinding, column-mounted adjustable LED floodlights with custom snoots replaced recessed fixtures. Coved-mounted LEDs graze walls, creating high levels of vertical luminance to attract vistors farther into the lobby. Identical treatment of exterior and interior surfaces, visible through new glass walls, forges connections between inside and outside.
