She has worked in various organizations: in NYC for Carl Hillman and in Washington, DC for Claude Engle Lighting Consultant and Coventry Lighting Associates. Before starting her own firm, Debra was the sole in-house lighting designer for Architectural Interiors/APM Engineering. She was a project manager for Harry Gitlin, a custom lighting fabricator in NYC, and partnered in a startup design/build business for the residential market in NYC.
Debra has been a guest lecturer at Parsons The New School for Design and Catholic University of America. She is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and professionally affiliated with the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
